Original, complete, functional WWII Luftwaffe Roka Bakelite UV headlight with nose rest. WWII German Roka Ultra Violet headlight was built by the Roka compagny around 1943. It was used by the Luftwaffe crews during night flights. The construction was outfitted with a nose rest and it was made from Bakelite.

When turned on during night flight the UV light would direct the pilot of navigator towards the instrument panel. The radium inside the instrument panel lit up when the UV light was activated, the radium dials and gauges glowed. The UV light was also used as warning sign for engine fires and mach speed indicators. There are more model of this lamp but it seems to be mostly used as Innenraumbeleuchtung of interior lighting by the luftwaffe crews.

This specific version comes with a battery box, there are also variants that are powered by the instrument panel of the aircraft. If normal light was needed the front of the lamp could be turned by the operator. They were used in planes like the Junker Ju 88, Heinkel He 111, Messerschmitt Me 163 and Messerschmitt Me 262 planes.
