It was located on the main instrument panel on many german early aircrafts. a and would have been connected to the main electrics.
The glass is in great shape, and there is no damage of any type that we can see. In addition to the Me 109, this instrument was also used in the WWII-era Luftwaffe aircraft Me-110, and Ju-87, as well as others.
