Offer
The APR-6 was part of the Luftwaffe’s K4ü (Kurssteuerung 4) automatic pilot system, used in German bombers and large aircraft during WWII.
This specific box is a servo drive unit (Antrieb) that converted electrical autopilot signals into mechanical control movements.
Inside are precision electromechanical systems with coils, gears, and amplifiers that would drive the aircraft’s control surfaces (rudder, ailerons, or elevators).
The brown ribbed part is made of Bakelite or phenolic resin, used as an insulator for the electronics and to withstand vibration/heat.
Installed in aircraft such as the Heinkel He 111, Junkers Ju 88, Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor, and similar multi-engine bombers.
Allowed stable long-distance flight, reduced pilot fatigue, and improved bombing accuracy.
