Original WW2 German Luftwaffe Richtungsgeber (Direction Selector), Fl.22567 . This Richtungsgeber was a small part of the large autopilot system as used on many early German bombers such as the Steuerhörnern, z.B. Junkers Ju 88, Ju 188, Heinkel He 111, He 177 . It mounted directly to the control column or control wheel, so the pilot could make manual adjustments to the current directional path.
