How it works: The ZFR 4A is an optical double sight for fixed aircraft guns, in which a telescopic sight and a reflex sight are combined with parallel sighting axes. The viewing angle of the telescope is tilted upwards so that the axis of the telescope on the eyepiece side intersects the line of sight of the Revi in the exit pupil of the telescope. Sighting is done via the telescopic sight to identify the actual target. With a slight upward turn of the eye, the Revi's luminous deflection can then be reached, whereby the shot can be fired while maintaining the intended eye distance of 255 mm (eyepiece-side intersection of both sighting axes).
